| Abstract: | The article provides a critical exposition and evaluation of the sociological analysis of styles of thought. The main topics of the paper are styles of thought as a research programme, the morphology of thought styles, worldviews and styles of thought, the social structure of worldviews and styles of thought. Works of K. Mannheim, C. Wright Mills and K. Danziger are critically reviewed. The article retains basic framework or core of Mannheim's approach. A critical assessment of the various components of Mannheim's sociology of styles of thought is presented. |
