| Abstract: | The study of industrial relations in Britain began about 40 years ago. It has passed through 4 phases and it is time for a fifth. The author proposes a major change in research objectives and methodology, so that many more studies are of immediate use to practitioners especially those concerned with personnel. He wants researchers to tackle the major problems facing management using 'old fashioned field work' and non-academic language. |
