Abstract:On April 1 Europe fully deregulates air travel. Passengers could get a bonanza. Karl-Heinz Jork is not a popular guy. As in-house travel manager for German electronics giant Siemens, he has decreed that everyone but top management must fly economy class in Europe. With hundreds of employees in the air on any given day, he also drives hard bargains with the airlines. Jork's pfenning-pinching has already sliced his annual budget of $1.2 billion by 10%, even though the number of trips taken is up.
