Abstract:The corporations, like individuals, have their own sets of ethics that help to define their characters. The organization's ethical climate helps to determine how employees at all levels make ethical decisions. By establishing and maintaining an appropriate ethical climate, management can not only make the organization more effective but also ensure that in a moment of crisis the organization will react swiftly and responsibly. Environment, structure and history are the most important factors that determine the company's ethical climate. A method is proposed for measuring ethical climate. An ethical climate questionnaire is presented. Printing industry references are given. Some ways of altering ethical climate are described.
