| Abstract: | This Cover story article deals with immigration issues. Once Central Europe joins European Union, the EU countries fear that they will be flooded by immigrants. However, few Central Europeans are willing to move even within their own countries, let alone abroad, to get jobs. There is information in brief on Central European workers in Austria (1998), GDP per capita as percentage of Germany's (1998) in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and as a comparison in Portugal (Portugal figure of 1992). |
