Abstract:A key concern about immigration is the integration into the labour market, not only of the first generation but also of subsequent generations. For Europe's largest economies, there is available little comparative work. France, Germany and the U.K. have all become countries with large immigrant populations although with very different ethnic compositions. This article discusses and presents comparative evidence on the performance of 1st and 2nd generation immigrants in these countries as to education, employment and earnings.
