| Abstract: | This paper tests efficiency wage propositions by using two-digit manufacturing industry-level production functions. Results demonstrate that unexplained industry wage premia and higher unemployment rate raise productivity. Wage premia and human capital component cannot be aggregated into a single human capital index. |
