| Abstract: | This article discusses the impact of improvements in communications technology at the turn of the twentieth century on wages and organization. The authors state that the improvements help people to abandon self-employment and create teams with each other. Organization can exploit the complemetarities between different skill levels, which in turn affects the distribution of earnings. |
