Abstract:The article discusses issues concerning corruption in financial institutions focusing on the emerging countries' situation. The discussion draws on data gathered in face-to-face interviews carried out with 70 top managers of financial institutions. A Structural equation model was used to test the hypotheses and gain a better understanding about the institutional reasons for corruption. The results from 18 different emerging countries show that the link between organizational isomorphism and corruption.
