Abstract:The article argues that gender is deeply involved in the concept of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) in two ways. First, using a feminist perspective, the analysis explores the language and metaphors used in the definition of OCB and its dimensions. Second, using a critical post liberal perspective, the analysis examines how the features of OCB are defined and enacted in ways which culturally differentiate men and women and create inequality. The theorical concepts are highlighted and it is shown that they have relevance both for practice and for analysis.
