Abstract:This article evaluates the energy performance of the services inside an urban system, determining their global environmental impact. In addition, the study determines the most energy demanding services and the efficiency of their energy use per visitor and per surface area (here as: s-a.) unit. Electricity consumption represents nearly 70 percent of the total energy consumed by the services at the Montjuic Park. The forest s-a. required to absorb the CO2-equivalent emissions ... represents 12.2 times the Park's s-a. In analyzing the Park's technical energy consumption, the findings are based on the use of energy flow accounting (EFA), life-cycle assessment (LCA), and the energy footprint.
