Abstract: | There are three commonly used world views in discrete event simulation modelling: activity-scanning, process-interaction, and event-scheduling. Graphical modelling techniques for the activity-scanning world view and for the process-interaction world view - block diagrams and process networks - have been available for a considerable period of time. Recently, Schruben developed event graphs as the first graphical modelling technique for the event-scheduling world view. Event graphs can specify a simulation model and they are computer language independent. |
