| Abstract: | One of Kraft's General Food's plants in the Midwest produces packaged food products. The division faced a serious problem. Due to a massive renovation of the plant, old lines needed to be replaced with higher capacity lines. Before moving forward with the renovation, Kraft's management wanted a detailed mathematical analysis of the problem. Considering each line had a significant cost, they considered it imperative that the analysis determine the absolute best number of lines needed. |
