Abstract: | It is often assumed that a broadly based commitment by an organization workforce is a key element for a successful implementation process. However, such an approach often results in the emergence of unanticipated and undesirable compliance counterforces. In this article the consequences of an historical overemphasis on top management involvement/commitment in the implementation process is explored and several potential pitfalls awaiting managers today are considered. |
