Abstract:Improvement in business productivity is always desired. This social trend will become more severe in the decade to come. In contrast to the Taylor system of the past, future improvement in productivity will be achieved by making the most of the human nature of workers. The present widespread quality circle activities are seen as a symptom of the growing participative management. For the development of management of this type a basic concept of human-oriented management and a new leadership style are sought. Quality assurance for example has more to do with human participation, responsibility, initiative and co-ownership, and much less to do with statistics (all of the necessary statistics will be supplied by the modern information technology).
