Abstract: | The telecoms industry will soon be dominated by a handful of global giants. There is no industry more volatile than international telecoms at the moment, with convergence, consolidation, liberalisation and competition churning up a dust cloud through which corporate users struggle to find a cheap path. THe fact is, we are living in an age when every type of commercial activity is underpinned by telecoms, and so supplier mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures are rife as the telcos chase the Holy Grail of scale -- global business reach, to keep costs down and profits up. |
