Abstract:Local food and beverages are increasingly incorporated into the tourism products and thereby the value of the destination is increased. An ale trail is a good way for small retailers to develop partnerships and to promote their products. This article examines the beer tourism product analysing the results of a survey conducted at six breweries along the Waterloo-Wellington Ale Trail in Ontario, Canada. The visitor profiles, visit information, and the Ale Trail experiences are discussed and the significance of partnerships is emphasized.
