| Abstract: | In this article the authors discuss the role of the corporat intranet as a tool for the communication of change and collaboration in organizations. After establishing the boundaries of the intranet, the authors briefly illustrate its potential for success by showing its impact in a number of well-known companies. Then the authors briefly summarize the development process of an instrument for the measurement of intranet effectiveness in organizations, and provide a simple checklist for managers to use in their evaluation of their Intranet's success. A brief case study from Singapore illustrates a practical application of intranet effectiveness measurement. The authors conclude by showing how this tool can be used by general managers in a range of organizations to impact on the performance of the corporate Intranet. |
