| Abstract: | Employee theft costs USA business more than 40 billion annually and the numbers are increasing. Human resources executives can help stop the bleeding by aggressively fighting crime. Such human resources initiatives as pre-employment testing, clear rules for discipline, benefit plan strategies and recognition programs are helping fight on-the-job theft. Taking these steps to deal with the problem sends a clear message to employees that stealing is not tolerated. |
