Abstract:A recharged Japan Inc. is spurring a rebound. Investors think they have plenty to smile about in Japan. Sensing an economic turnaround, foreign money managers have pumped nearly $35 billion into the Tokyo stock market in the past six months, pushing the Nikkey average to 20,600, up to 42% from its 1995 low. Market pros think a further gain of 10% to 15% is in the offing this year. Why? After four years mired in the muck, the economy is finally showing signs of pulling out. Most economists expect the gross domestic product to grow more than 2% this year and nearly 3% in 1997.
