Abstract: | As one of the largest investors in China , Jack Perkowski is hoping happy days are here again. But his companies have a long way to go yet. Nobody is more optimistic that China is finally emerging from its three-year winter of discontent than Jack Perkowski. But then he has little choice but to be optimistic. In a six-month burst beginning in august 1994, Perkowski pumped nearly $300 million into Chinese companies. Perkowski thinks the worst is behind him. Credit is easing and inflation is down. Yet the path to success is by no means clear. |
