Abstract: | The ox may look like a bull, but is he? The year of the Ox seems about to start on a confused note. While retail investors surge into Asian stocks in droves, some of the most experienced market participants - from fund managers to trading-desk heads to the partners of Goldman Sachs - are liquidating their personal equity holdings. Some brokers even wonder if there is enough fear in the market. "Maybe the Dow will go to 20 ,000," says the head of a major investment house in Hong Kong. "But I won't be on that train. I'd rather protect my gains than bet on doubling them at this point." |
