Abstract:Looking back to the process of macro-economic adjustment, the implementation of demand-management policy has been successful and effective for China has maintained the continuing growth of national economy without a runaway inflation through almost three years of practice of this policy. But at present stage, it is impractical to keep the economic growth without accepting inflation rate of some extent. Therefore , either the policy of trying to stimulate a high-speed economic growth by means of maintaining a high-level inflation or the policy of checking a high inflation rate by merely relying upon demand- management is not feasible as a whole. Where is the way-out? This paper thinks that while sticking to demand-management policy in implementation, China should apply supply- management policy in a proper way.
