Abstract:This is the excerpts of a white Paper on Arms Control and Disarmament in China, Published by the Information Office of the Chinese State Council on November 14 , 1995. It is about how China has tremendously promoted its economic growth by maintaining a low national defense spending and utilizing military industrial technologies for peaceful purposes. China began a planned and comprehensive transfer of defense technologies to civilian use at the end of the 1970s. The transfer of military technology to civilian use has contributed to national economic construction in China and has also provided various countries in the world with successful experiences for such conversion in peacetime.
