Abstract:The integration of GCE (greater Chinese economy) began to be apparent only in the late 1980s when economic relations between the mainland and Taiwan became closer and significant. The increasing integration of GCE is based on a pattern with growing economic strength of the mainland and more and more trade and capital flow from Hong Kong and Taiwan to the mainland. With the competitiveness, not only developing countries, but also many developed countries have felt China challenge on their own market, as well as on the world market. However, the integration of GCE is based on a principle of open regionalism. The formation of GCE does not only bring about challenges, but also opportunities for other countries to expand their exports.
