Abstract:Several factors have contributed to the rapid growth of Sino-Russian relations: 1. Bilateral relations are based on the principles of equality, friendship, mutual respect and mutual noninterference in each other's internal affairs. 2. The resolution of the border issue. 3. Bilateral trade and economic cooperation have flourished as a result of improved political relations. 4. Nongovernmental exchanges in culture, science and technology, inter-city and provincial cooperation and nongovernmental organizations have also been brisk. 5. The two countries have moved closer toward each other on international issues. There still exist some potential obstacles to better Sino-Russian relations. A review of Sino-Russian relations reveals that the present stage of Sino-Russian relations, characterized by equality, mutual trust, friendship, is determined by four factors.
