| Abstract: | David Brennan spent the first week of April in the wilds of Alberta, grappling with bears. They weren't the four-footed , 800-pound kind, but they were about as irascible. Brennan, managing director of Barings Asset Management in Hong Kong, was in Canada meeting his clients, who expressed the same growing disillusionment with Asia that one finds in the rest of America and Europe.
