Abstract: | Among practitioners, companies are looking beyond technology and information systems towards a broader conception of knowledge management. Recognition that the major source of knowledge is the expertise and know-how of employees has directed attention to human resource planning and appraisal. The purpose of this article is to identify some of the fundamental features of the emerging knowledge-based view of the firm and to explore its implications for practicing managers. |
