| Abstract: | The whole country's GDP will grow by 9.8% or so in 1998.The regional economic growth rate presents again the trend of being high in the east and low in the west. The added industrial output value of various localities will grow by 11.9%. The growth rate of investment in fixed assets will increase somewhat compared with that in 1997. Both price situation and regional trade export situation are better. The consumers' goods market will continue to keep a stable growth. The central and western areas will still be the hotbeds of foreign direct investment in 1998. The growth rate of actually used foreign investment in these two areas will be higher than that in the eastern area. |
