FISHING INDUSTRY

Abstract:The Kenya sports fishing industry is known for being well-organized, if slightly fractured in promotional ability. The 2000/2001 season was one of the most successful in recent history - notable for the large number of marlin, tuna and sailfish caught. The January/February season start brought the first surprise - huge amounts of dead squid were seen floating on the surface. As Kenya's sports fishing reputation spreads by word of mouth, it is fast becoming the number one world destination for many of the sports avid followers. The author of this article concludes by asking the question where else one can catch close to a world- record marlin, arm breaking yellowfin tuna or even enjoy a day as sea safari.
