Abstract: | Attention is given to improving the quality of small firms' management. Recent research on owner-managers and small enterprises is treated as helping in the design of training courses based on their real needs and experiences. A bottom-up approach is advocated derived from an identification of four key functional areas of small business management. Consideration is given to a further problem: that of reaching small business owners to persuade them to use the training now increasingly on offer. |
