Abstract:Inventory is usually classified as one of the current assets of an organization. A slight reduction in inventory lowers assets relative to liabilities and thus affects the current ratio which is normally used as a measure of liquidity. Changes in inventory levels also affect revenues and operating costs which, in turn, may cause a perturbation in the operating profits of an organization. Consequently, companies are allocating an increasing proportion of resources to controlling inventory. Scheme to classify integrated inventory models is presented. Integrated models can contribute significantly to improve buyer-vendor relationship.
