Abstract: | The research of technology diffusion uses a dichotomous variable for adoption which is crude. The article argues with the example of PC installations in FRG crafts where one has to differentiate between first installation and follow-up installations, the different uses to which the computer is put and the degree to which the computer has permeated the area in question. Actual data of a 3.000 strong sample of firms is presented. |
