Abstract:Knowing what makes groups tick is as important as understanding individuals. Both cultural intelligence (or CQ) and emotional intelligence share the characteristic of being able to suspend judgment and to think first before taking action. Research shows that people can achieve an acceptable level of cultural intelligence if they are alert, motivated and poised. Successful managers learn to cope with different national, corporate, and vocational cultures.
