Abstract:The author sates that for two generations the 'proud livery youth' has held employers rapt. But a mood-swing is under way. The new focus is on the greyhair values of experience and wisdom. The author states that generations battles as the old make way for the young are especially prevalent in the competitive world of business, and in the 40 years since the cult of youth took off in the swinging '60s, the middle- aged have not had an easy ride. The author states that there is a line after which a manger don't have to worry about other people's mortgages, this man is again becoming rather recourse then a manager. The paper concludes by statement that a mixed-age workforce is undoubtedly the ideal.
