Abstract: | This article compares British and Spanish journalism students' opinions about professionalization, their social roles and motivation to be journalists and work on news media. The results are also contrasted with responses from a survey of experienced journalists. An analysis of the data indicated that there was no variation in the ethical views of students. On the contrary, the students' motivation was not congruent. According to the authors, the national journalistic cultures are one reason for differences. |
