| Abstract: | Common sense manufacturing (CSM) builds on the benefits of both JIT and MRP systems. The CSM system implemented at Lucent Technologies resulted in significant improvements, consistent on time delivery, increased througput, and improved costs of manufacture, without adding people or capital equipment. |
