Abstract: | The conversion of the lean office philosophy into practice cannot only be based on technology. This process has to be supported by organizational changes. Different trends in the technical support of the office work (e.g. client/server architecture) are described and analyzed. It is shown which organizational measures (e.g. work flow management) are necessary to achieve "lean" office processes. It is also demonstrated that a standardized lean office concept is not possible. In order to increase the efficiency of office work, organizations have to develop their own individual reorganization concepts. |
