| Abstract: | Effective monopoly is a new idea or perspective for us to tackle the problems in the developments of some industries in modernization of China. For better or for worse, the self-discipline promoted by the government against the abnormal price wars in some manufacturing industries is only an expedient measure. As to whether to organize big enterprises or not in an industry, the concept of effective monopoly provides the standards for us to make decisions, i.e., whether a big enterprise having been set up is effective monopolist or not. The concept can only be applied in the industries in which large-scale production can be organized in the existing system of production. |
