| Abstract: | The globalization of financial markets has become a buzzword for economists and policy makers alike. Quantifying the degree of financial globalization and explaining the limited degree of integration found by some concepts, however, has remained a challenge. This paper reviews traditional measurers of global capital market integration and argues that no single concept comprehensively assesses the degree of international financial integration. |
