| Abstract: | The authors have studied the Factor X concept through an imagined future lens provided by a framework of basic principles for sustainability for the whole ecosphere. From such a backcasting perspective, three areas seem to be of particular importance when it comes to application of the Factor X concept for sustainable development: 1) a sufficiently large perspective, 2) qualitative aspects and 3) dynamic aspects. |
