| Abstract: | A review of the impact on the business of investment management as more sponsors use performance fees to compensate their managers, how tying performance to a firm's revenues could have a negative impact on portfolio managers' compensation in a period of poor performance, how on average investment firms tend to underperform the market and the need to ensure a balance between the manager's fee revenue without needing to alter the portfolio risk. |
