| Abstract: | The World Bank and IMF were founded just over a half century ago. Since then, the world and the international financing institutions have changed considerably. Their original rationale no longer fits, and their activities have altered as the world economy has grown. The occasion of their anniversary saw an outpouring of opinions and material on the past and present performance of international financing institutions, and the role they might play in the future. |
