Abstract:The environmental rating indicates that there is much room for improvement. This does not mean that the producers of food and consumer goods are completely ignoring the environmental aspects of their performance. Some companies, such as Unilever, Allied Domecq and Cadbury Schweppes produce comprehensive environmental reports that include information on the management tools they use and the environmental aspects of their products. However, the different methods used to present environmental data (e.g. on the consumption of natural resources or the generation of emissions) show that there is still a need to introduce common standards. The analysis revealed that almost all of the large food producers are involved in the production of GMOs.
