Abstract:The author considers the assessments of success and states that they are a simple matter, of course, at the corporate level. Cost accounting and controlling and managing strategic factors for success are among the micro-economic concepts for making rational decisions, planning success (as far as possible) and learning from mistakes. Evaluations are assessments of success- but in a wider context and understanding. The author also states that evaluation of sustainable development is becoming more and more important, on both the national level and the international level. The most important driving factor is a shift in environmental policy from the sectoral and problem-oriented application of command-and-control instruments to incentive-based instruments that aim to develop integrated solutions.
