Abstract:Ten years ago the stunt would have landed lee Young Soo in jail. Like many South Koreans, the 60-year-old golf-bag manufacturer was furious about the bribes-for-loans scandal that prompted the spectacular collapse of Hanbo Group, the nation's 14th-largest conglomerate. So Lee bought ads in five Seoul newspapers to call for the resignations of authorities probing the so-called Hanbogate. Afterward, 2,000 people phoned to express their admiration for his brashness.
