| Abstract: | The first two articles in this series looked at the business background and the work of the finance function in multinational companies. In this third article the author discusses the key part played by the controller. The control departments of leading international companies today are far more than recycled and updated versions of the management accounting departments of a couple of generations ago. Their role is quite different and much more central to business management. |
