| Abstract: | IN a country whose agriculture and manufacturing have been decimated by the availability of less expensive imports, tourism is one of the economic bright spots. Some critics, however, question whether boosting tourism won't threaten Latvia's culture and society. Latvian tourism is in need of education to train new employees and managers for the industry. Laws and policies also are needed. Latvia is now focusing its tourism development efforts on luring visitors from the West. |
