Abstract:The implementation of environmental policies depends to a large extent on employee participation. In this research project, different levels of participation were established for four campaing types. By means of questionnaires in both pre- and post-measurement, the influence of environmental awareness; employees' intended environmental behaviour; and employees' actual environmental behaviour. The main conclusion was that co-decision-making campaings proved to be the most effective in improving corporate environmental behaviour. The involvement of employees in decision-making processes increased their commitment to environmental issues. The process of involving employees in decision-making will motivate them and ensure the success of environmental policies within business.
