Abstract:In january 1996, Arthur Andersen & Co. accountants held a glum meeting to figure out how to drum up business in China. But that was before President Jiang Zemin started his push to reform state enterprises. Now, more and more Chinese companies must raise funds by listing on local and international bourses. To do that , they need help. So more than 1000 Arthur Andersen professionals are working overtime to introduce US accounting standards on China's corporations.
